[10:07] Agenda Faromet: Shall we get started? We could save Lex's report till later.

[10:08] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Don't have a quorum yet.

[10:08] Sam Courtois. Esq.: If you know anyone online to invite, send them a limo.

[10:08] Agenda Faromet: We haven't had a quorum at one of these meetings in a very, very long time.

[10:09] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Good point.

[10:09] Sam Courtois. Esq.: OK

[10:09] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Let's start then.

[10:09] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Agenda - talk to us about the Village, please.

[10:11] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Good morning Lyra!

[10:12] Elizabeth: Hello Lyra!

[10:12] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Thank you all for coming

[10:12] Lyra Snowpaw: Hiya Sam

[10:12] Lyra Snowpaw: Hi Elizabeth

[10:12] Sam Courtois. Esq.: It is my intention to start these meetings as soon as we have a quorum of ten.

[10:12] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Lexis Looming (19m)

[10:13] Sam Courtois. Esq.: It is also my intention to have an agenda to follow and to proceed through it efficiently.

[10:13] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Hopefully we will get through in a timely fashion and not waste people's time.

[10:13] Lyra Snowpaw: I could raise my hand twice if it would help us get a quorum

[10:13] Elizabeth: Hello Lexis.

[10:13] Lyra Snowpaw: Hi Lexis

[10:13] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Lexis is here and he is our treasurer, good morning Lexis-

[10:13] Jonathan Kramer: G'day Lexis

[10:13] Suemoon Magic: ㋡

[10:14] Sam Courtois. Esq.: May we have a report?

[10:14] Lexis Looming: Good Morning all

[10:14] Agenda Faromet: Wait. A report from Lex or a report from me? My report is incoming as soon as I can paste it in.

[10:15] Sam Courtois. Esq.: I was going to revert to the orders of the day, if that is ok, Agenda?

[10:15] Lexis Looming: Ok I have my report ready

[10:15] Agenda Faromet: That's fine -- you'd just asked me for a Justitia report, and hadn't told me yet that you'd changed your mind.

[10:15] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Mea culpa.

[10:16] Lexis Looming whispers: I have put up a slide with our balance sheet at the end of the year

[10:16] Agenda Faromet pauses and waits.

[10:16] Lexis Looming: We still had our land which was valued at $5000L

[10:16] Lexis Looming: It has been sold for $5000L so now we have cash instead

[10:17] Lexis Looming: The furniture and fixtures were at the old building so I don't know if it appropriate to still carry them on our books

[10:17] Agenda Faromet: The furniture and fixtures moved with us. They're here now.

[10:17] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Was there any conceivable salvage value?

[10:18] Lexis Looming: I have now put up a slide with your 2011 Income and expenses

[10:18] Agenda Faromet: For the furniture and fixtures? They weren't salvaged. They were moved, and are here now.

[10:18] Lexis Looming: Ok good. Thank you Agenda, I will continue to carry them as assets

[10:19] zenitram: Lexis ... in addition to the balance sheets, do you have a P&L?

[10:19] Sam Courtois. Esq.: It appears that other than rent, we have no operating expenses?

[10:19] zenitram: thanks ... I see it now

[10:20] Lexis Looming: We had advertising expense and tier

[10:20] Lexis Looming: we pay to be listed in search and also a classified ad

[10:21] Lexis Looming: as you can see we did not take in enough revenue to cover expenses

[10:21] Sam Courtois. Esq.: OK

[10:21] Lexis Looming: on the other hand our deficit of $10,000L was less than the year before

[10:21] Lexis Looming: the year before we had $24,000L in California Tax liability

[10:22] Lexis Looming: which we no longer have because we received our Tax Exempt status

[10:22] Geri Kahn is online.

[10:22] Lexis Looming: $25,000L in California taxes in 2010

[10:23] Lexis Looming: in 2010 our deficit was $35,000

[10:23] Lexis Looming: any questions?

[10:23] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Geri Kuhn (2m)

[10:23] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Morning Geri.

[10:23] Suemoon Magic: Who covered the deficit?

[10:23] Agenda Faromet raises her hand.

[10:23] Jonathan Kramer: Hi Geri

[10:23] Geri Kahn: Hi

[10:23] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Go ahead Agenda

[10:23] Lexis Looming: The deficit was paid out of surpluses from prior years....cash on hand

[10:23] Elizabeth: Hello Geri!

[10:24] Lexis Looming: Good morning Geri

[10:24] Lyra Snowpaw: Hi Geri

[10:24] zenitram: so it effectively looks like a L$10K annual structural deficit

[10:24] Agenda Faromet: We have talked about reducing or eliminating the annual fee for group membership. Is this something we can revisit?

[10:24] Lexis Looming: I don't see how so long as we have to pay tier?

[10:25] Lyra Snowpaw nods

[10:25] Elizabeth: Doesn't appear we have enough funding to cover everything without it.

[10:25] Lexis Looming: we will be out of existence in no time

[10:25] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Certainly; however, if even without CA taxes we are exceeding our income, that might not be wise.

[10:25] Lexis Looming: Dues are our only source of income

[10:25] Tim Faith is online.

[10:25] Lexis Looming: we would have had a $50,000L deficit without them

[10:25] Agenda Faromet nods.

[10:26] Sam Courtois. Esq.: any other questions?

[10:26] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: Yoss Kamachi (19m)

[10:26] Sam Courtois. Esq.: I'll entertain a motion to accept the report.

[10:26] Agenda Faromet: Hi, Tim! Welcome.

[10:26] zenitram: so moved

[10:27] Lyra Snowpaw: 2nd

[10:27] Elizabeth: Second.

[10:27] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Second?

[10:27] Tim Faith: hello

[10:27] Lyra Snowpaw: Hi TIm

[10:27] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Thank you. any objections?

[10:27] Lexis Looming: Greetings Tim

[10:27] Lexis Looming: err Yoss

[10:27] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Without objection, the report will be accepted - thank you Lexis.

[10:28] Lexis Looming: thank you

[10:29] Sam Courtois. Esq.: you will note that on the agenda for today, at the Executive Committee meeting last Saturday, I made some interim appointments to the EC.

[10:29] RockyCreek Forsythe is online.

[10:29] Sam Courtois. Esq.: I invited Jonathan, Lyra and Suemoon to join Elizabeth and Agenda on the committee.

[10:29] Sam Courtois. Esq.: I will entertain a motion to ratify these appointments please.

[10:30] Lexis Looming: So moved

[10:30] Jonathan Kramer: Self serving: Seconded.

[10:30] Sam Courtois. Esq.: seconds

[10:30] Sam Courtois. Esq.: great.

[10:30] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Thank you.

[10:30] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Agenda - are you ready to talk about the Village now?

[10:30] Agenda Faromet: Certainly.

[10:30] Sam Courtois. Esq.: You're on

[10:30] Agenda Faromet: Prepare for a wall of text, you guys.

[10:30] Agenda Faromet: The Justitia Legal Resource Village opened to the public on Feb. 1. Justitia's goals are twofold: first, to provide an area for in-world attorneys, legal professionals, and other interested SL residents to gather and collaborate; second, to provide resources -- both content and human -- to SL residents who have legal concerns and questions. I hope that we will be able to offer more content as time goes by.

[10:31] Agenda Faromet: Justitia features the office building for the SLBA, a cafe for social events, and an auditorium / courtroom for learning events (CLEs) and mock trials. So we are now able to host events, both social and learning, whenever we'd like. That constitutes a significant portion of the content I'd like to see us offer.

[10:31] Agenda Faromet: Since Justitia opened to the public on Feb. 1, it has already been mentioned in a few blogs, including New World Notes, which has a very large SL readership, and has thus gotten a bit of traffic and visitors from the SL community. I'm hoping it'll receive more as time goes on and we start offering more content.

[10:31] Agenda Faromet: We have also already gotten offers for partnership from some content creation groups, one of which has asked us to participate in an instructional series with them. I've agreed. Once we set up our landmark exchange program, we'll have some good partners.

[10:31] Agenda Faromet: We've got offices available if you would like one -- talk to Sam. I am also providing low-prim, low-cost office furniture at a little shop here on Justitia, so your office can be furnished. Please contact Sam to reserve an office, and me if there are any building details you would like to alter or if you would like a sign in your window.

[10:32] Agenda Faromet settles down a moment to see if there are questions or commentary.

[10:32] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Thank you Agenda

[10:32] Tim Faith: I think the effort here has been very positive

[10:32] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Questions, anyone?

[10:32] zenitram: you mentioned content creation partners ... can you elaborate?

[10:32] Jonathan Kramer: Jonathan raises hand

[10:32] Elizabeth: Just a comment. Justitia looks beautiful and I think you deserve a great deal of thanks for the work you have done.

[10:32] Suemoon Magic: Costs for office space?

[10:33] Suemoon Magic: Yes

[10:33] Sam Courtois. Esq.: I believe Agenda's contribution has been totally incredible.

[10:33] Jonathan Kramer: Here, here.

[10:33] Sam Courtois. Esq.: $L300 per week atm

[10:33] Lyra Snowpaw: agreed, very nicely done

[10:33] Lexis Looming: Absolutely Awesome, Agenda. You’ve done an amazing job.

[10:34] Sam Courtois. Esq.: I am hoping we will put Justitia on the map!

[10:34] Agenda Faromet: Certainly, zenitram. There is a group run by Cyclic Gearz that focuses on instructional series for builders, designers, and other interested residents. She's asked if we would like to bring a legal viewpoint in.

[10:34] Sam Courtois. Esq.: If any of you, through your connections. become aware of anyone who might be interested in using our facilities, I hope you will encourage them to contact us.

[10:34] zenitram: Thanks Agenda. That sounds good

[10:35] Agenda Faromet: Thank you guys so much. I can't tell you what it means to hear that -- I really did work very hard on the place, and the fact that it's appreciated means so much.

[10:35] Agenda Faromet: Jonathan, did you have a question?

[10:35] Tim Faith: how many tenants have we secured, Sam?

[10:36] Jonathan Kramer: More of a comment... Elizabeth and I have rented space, and encourage all of you to join us at the ground floor, as it were.

[10:36] Sam Courtois. Esq.: in addition to Agenda and me, there is Elizabeth and Jonathan.

[10:36] Soro Dagostino raises hand

[10:36] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Geri and Ben have inquired.

[10:36] Lyra Snowpaw: +1, I will rent something here

[10:36] Soro Dagostino: Carve one for me.

[10:36] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Lyra

[10:36] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Soro

[10:36] Sam Courtois. Esq.: great

[10:36] zenitram: same here

[10:37] Sam Courtois. Esq.: RS

[10:37] Sam Courtois. Esq.: That's what we need

[10:37] Sam Courtois. Esq.: A bustling community of people coming and going.

[10:37] Agenda Faromet: Exactly. It'll be nice to log in and have people to sit around the cafe and chat with.

[10:37] Soro Dagostino: lol

[10:37] Elizabeth: Couldn't agree more!

[10:37] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Agenda did not mention teleporters

[10:38] Agenda Faromet: Oh! Right!

[10:38] Sam Courtois. Esq.: but we can arrange for teleporters to skyboxes here or other locations.

[10:38] Sam Courtois. Esq.: so you can meet people here, but confer in private elsewhere.

[10:39] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Anything else on the Village?

[10:39] Agenda Faromet: Each office will have a teleporter to -- not other locations, Sam. A teleporter to a skybox for privacy or, /if/ you have an office on the ground here on Justitia, you can have a teleporter to the ground.

[10:39] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Look around.

[10:39] Lyra Snowpaw: perfect, that's a real issue in crowded areas. . .

[10:39] Sam Courtois. Esq.: pick your space.

[10:39] Agenda Faromet: But not just anywhere in the world. Doesn't work that way.

[10:39] Sam Courtois. Esq.: there is a map at the bottom of the walkway.

[10:39] zenitram: OK ... answered my question. I was wondering if I could teleport to my office in the London SIM.

[10:39] Elizabeth: To solve the issue if you need to go elsewhere in world, you could always put a LM distributor in your office to provide people a TP to a different location.

[10:40] Agenda Faromet: You could -- right, Elizabeth. I could give you a LM giver. That's the best you could do.

[10:40] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Anything else?

[10:40] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Moving right along.

[10:40] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Future programs

[10:40] Lexis Looming: Of course in a private sky box you are only private from avis in 20m... You are NOT private from the world as you will be recorded on LL servers

[10:41] Agenda Faromet: Correct. There are always issues of confidentiality.

[10:42] Sam Courtois. Esq.: I have asked Jonathan to co-chair a programs committee with Ellen Ireland.

[10:42] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Ellen has been off line for a while, so I don't know what is happening in her life, but Jonathan, have you made any progress?

[10:43] Jonathan Kramer: Not with Ellen. I plan to have a proposal for the group at the next meeting.

[10:43] SLBAAdministrator Clarity is online.

[10:43] MystiTool HUD 1.3.1: Entering chat range: SLBAAdministrator Clarity (7m)

[10:44] Sam Courtois. Esq.: look forward to that.

[10:44] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Also, past president Daniel has indicated that he will have a briefing for us on the Law of Second Life initiative.

[10:45] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Elizabeth, have you spoken with him?

[10:45] Soro Dagostino raises hand

[10:45] Elizabeth: Not as of yet.

[10:45] Sam Courtois. Esq.: OK, please do, and keep me posted.

[10:45] Sam Courtois. Esq.: any other program matters?

[10:46] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Thoughts?

[10:46] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Comments

[10:46] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Input?

[10:46] Agenda Faromet raises her hand.

[10:46] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Go Agenda

[10:46] Agenda Faromet: Soro was before me, though.

[10:46] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Oh sorry

[10:46] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Soro?

[10:47] Soro Dagostino: A question -- is there a forum thread on the Law of Second life?

[10:47] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Yes, but not a long one.

[10:47] Soro Dagostino: I thought I saw something . . .

[10:47] Agenda Faromet: Yes, there is.

[10:47] Tim Faith: http://slbarassn.ning.com/forum/topics/development-of-a-body-of-law...

[10:48] Soro Dagostino: It might be a good place to have folk comment.

[10:48] Sam Courtois. Esq.: No shortage of strongly held opinions though.

[10:48] Sam Courtois. Esq.: People are encouraged to weigh in.

[10:48] Suemoon Magic: Where do you want program suggestions?

[10:49] Sam Courtois. Esq.: I believe Yoss is in charge of the Ning site.

[10:49] Tim Faith: http://slbarassn.ning.com/forum/topics/2012-program-ideas-and-sugge...

[10:49] Tim Faith: I'm on it

[10:50] Suemoon Magic: OK

[10:50] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Sue, share them with us, or get together with Jonathan.

[10:50] Sam Courtois. Esq.: By the way, who can read the mail?

[10:50] Agenda Faromet: I can.

[10:50] Jonathan Kramer: Would appreciate it!

[10:50] Sam Courtois. Esq.: anyone know that?

[10:50] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Great.

[10:51] Tim Faith: Lex - isn't it the admin account for the mail here?

[10:51] Elizabeth: Sorry all, but I have to go. My sincere apologies.

[10:51] Jonathan Kramer: Bye

[10:51] Soro Dagostino: Take care

[10:51] Elizabeth: Thank you.

[10:51] Lyra Snowpaw waves to Eliz

[10:51] Elizabeth is offline.

[10:51] Sam Courtois. Esq.: see you later Elizabeth

[10:51] Agenda Faromet: He was, but I'm online regularly. SLBAAdministrator is not.

[10:51] Lexis Looming: Agenda set the mail up... I don't know if she restored SLBAADmin to read it

[10:52] Tim Faith: A - can you assign others to be able to read it?

[10:52] Sam Courtois. Esq.: OK

[10:52] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Anything else for the good of the order?

[10:52] Lexis Looming: yes

[10:53] Sam Courtois. Esq.: You are on.

[10:53] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Lexis?

[10:53] Lexis Looming: I want to tell all the new exec members they will now find they have been added to that role in the group and have the appropriate tags to say so

[10:53] Jonathan Kramer: (Thanks)

[10:53] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Great.

[10:53] Agenda Faromet: No. Only one owner can check the mail. It made more sense to me that it be someone who is online regularly and here regularly. I can switch it to SLBAAdministrator, but at the old building, we'd go a long time where SLBAAdmin was never on.

[10:53] Lyra Snowpaw: kk

[10:53] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Agenda - you had a point before and I didn't get back to you.

[10:54] Lyra Snowpaw raises hand

[10:54] Lexis Looming: If agenda wants to take responsibility and report the mail to Sam that is fine with me, or I can make it a point to check it more regularly

[10:54] Agenda Faromet: I was going to volunteer for a program. It's been answered.

[10:54] patrick Thorkveld is online.

[10:54] Lexis Looming: It is up to you all

[10:54] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Lexis - you and Agenda can work that out between the two of you.

[10:54] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Lyra?

[10:55] Sam Courtois. Esq.: you had a point?

[10:55] Lyra Snowpaw: oh just a possible issue for next agenda? Was wondering about the possibility of holding these meetings at least partially in voice?

[10:55] Lexis Looming: Go for it Agenda, you are our post person ;-)

[10:55] Agenda Faromet laughs. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor lag...

[10:55] Suemoon Magic: no transcripts in voice

[10:56] Sam Courtois. Esq.: The argument against voice has always been the lack of a record.

[10:56] Agenda Faromet: I am strongly against holding them in voice.

[10:56] Lyra Snowpaw: uppsss yes didn't think of that

[10:56] Sam Courtois. Esq. smiles

[10:56] Sam Courtois. Esq.: you're not the first.

[10:56] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Anything else?

[10:56] Sam Courtois. Esq.: anyone?

[10:57] Sam Courtois. Esq.: It is my intention to continue having these meeting at a high energy level.

[10:57] Sam Courtois. Esq.: I hope people will participate and encourage others to come.

[10:57] Lexis Looming: Congratulations Sam Your first meeting had a better attendance than any in a long time. Good job Mr. President

[10:57] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Thank you for being here today.

[10:57] Agenda Faromet: I love the big attendance! Great to see you all.

[10:58] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Let's all work together to make the group a strong as it once was.

[10:58] zenitram: likewise ... thanks for keeping the meeting on track and focused

[10:58] Tim Faith: here, here!

[10:58] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Motion to adjourn?

[10:58] Lyra Snowpaw: so moved

[10:58] Agenda Faromet: So moved!

[10:58] Jonathan Kramer: Seconded.

[10:58] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Have a great day all.

[10:58] Jonathan Kramer: Bye!

[10:59] Agenda Faromet: In that case, I would like to welcome you all to explore Justitia and pick out your offices!

[10:59] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Speak to agenda or me about offices in the Village, but I must run for the moment.

[10:59] Suemoon Magic: Bye

[10:59] Sam Courtois. Esq.: Bye all.
