SLBA votes to proceed with incorporation in California - see meeting TS

Today's meeting once again focused primarily on incorporation. After a lively discussion, informed by members' knowledge and experience in many jurisdictions, the members present voted 10 ayes, 1 nay, and 7 abstentions to incorporate. It was further decided that California would be the jurisdiction of incorporation. For details on the implementation, visit the forums.
Other topics were:
* Premises update: the board has several offers of free space and will make a recommendation by the next meeting.
* Credentials update: credentialling is underway, with six avatars credentialed or in progress.
* Speakers series update: Last week's CLE was cancelled due to technical problems. It will be rescheduled asap. Another session on the topic of legal ethics will take place this summer. If you have an idea for a presentation or want to give a presentation, contact Cat Galileo.
Other topics discussed briefly were the planning of a career fair for the fall, and building a relationship with ABA IP Law Section's virtual worlds committee
