INCORPORATION: LAST CHANCE TO COMMENT IS MAY 2!

At today's general meeting, President Legal Writer reported on the status of SLBA's incorporation process. Previously, it had been decided to seek incorporation as a non-profit organization in the state of California (California was chosen primarily because Legal Writer can prepare the papers there for us at no charge). The incorporation papers are complete and ready to go.

At today's meeting, members expressed concern about incorporating in the U.S. jurisdiction of California. For a discussion of the concerns, please review the transcript (available on our website at http://www.slba.info/transcripts/2009_04_11_transcript.html), beginning at 10:35AM.

It was decided that we would table the incorporation for 30 days to give members the opportunity to comment on these issues. post for comments from members, beginning today through May 2. The exboard will report on the comments and any proposed changes to the incorporation documents at the May 11 meeting. Post comments on this forum thread: http://www.slba.info/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1239476779/. You can also email them to kate@ceratops.net for me to post them anonymously if you so choose.

This request for comments will be publicized to members via in-world notice, this board, the web page, and the ning network.

May 2 is the last opportunity for comment. The exboard would like to adopt the articles of incorporation at the May 9 meeting.
